Oversampled Temporal Projection (OTP)

use_otp_denoising module-attribute

Python
use_otp_denoising: bool = False

Whether or not to use Oversampled Temporal Projection to preprocess the data.

!!! warning If the data will be processed using Maxwell filtering, OTP must be applied first, and the user must set the correlation limit for tSSS ([mf_st_correlation] [mne_bids_pipeline._config.mf_st_correlation]) to 0.99 or higher. Flat and noisy channels should be marked as bad prior to applying OTP or else the noise will be spread to all channels because of OTP. Setting automatic bad channel detection to True (find_flat_channels_meg and find_noisy_channels_meg) will mark bad channels prior to OTP, or alternately bad channels can be marked manually in the BIDS channels.tsv file.

Pipeline steps using this setting

The following steps are directly affected by changes to use_otp_denoising:

  • preprocessing/_01b_otp
  • preprocessing/_03_maxfilter
  • preprocessing/_04_frequency_filter

otp_duration module-attribute

Python
otp_duration: Literal['min'] | float = 10.0

Window duration in seconds. Can also be "min" to use the shortest possible window duration.

Example
Python
otp_duration = 10.
